MIDWEST HUNT FEST RETURNS TO WICHITA

WICHITA, KS. July 29, 2013 - Attendance is expected to double when the Midwest Hunt Fest returns for its second year to showcase the sport of hunting and fishing at Century II on August 9 through 11.

The expo is estimated to have over 100 exhibitors with hundreds of hunting, fishing and outdoor related products on display and for sale.  The event also features informative seminars by industry experts, appearances from hunting celebrities, hands-on activities, plus attendees will have chances to take home giveaways and door prizes valued over $20,000.

Midwest Hunt FestThis year's event is designed as a great outing for the entire family with new, added family-friendly attractions.  One new feature this year includes an interactive laser hunt simulator, courtesy of Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks.

Top celebrities scheduled to appear at Midwest Hunt Fest 2013 are:

Chipper Jones, Atlanta Braves All-Star third baseman and Major League Baseball's Most Valuable Player in 1999; accomplished bowhunter, co-owner and host of Sportsman Channel's Major League Bowhunter

Michael Waddell, recognized as a world-champion turkey caller; host of Outdoor Channel's Bone Collector, an award-winning "Fan Favorite Hunting Series."

"This year's Midwest Hunt Fest promises to be even bigger and better than last year. We are thrilled we can bring these top industry celebrities, experts, and vendors to Wichita.  This year's event does truly reach out to all family members, in addition to sportsmen, with fun-filled attractions for the kids and vendors that specifically cater to ladies," states event organizer Jennifer Nielsen. "Attendees are sure to enjoy a show chalked full of surprises and exhibits ranging from mounted exotic and domestic animals to a 40 foot long, 5000 gallon aquarium.  There are 3D shoot contests and we are also proud to host the only sanctioned turkey calling contest in Kansas."

Show dates/hours:  Friday, August 9 from 12 noon to 9 p.m.; Saturday, August 10 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Sunday, August 11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Friday, August 9 is "Kid's Night" and the first 100 children 12 and under will receive a free quail call.

Show location:  Century II Expo Hall, 225 W. Douglas Avenue, Wichita Kansas. 

Admission:  Children 7 and under are FREE (with one paid adult admission).  Youth (8 - 12) is $5.00.  Adult admission is $10.00.  Military and Senior admission is $9.00.
