Western Heritage - The Old Cowtown Museum offers visitors a living history experience as reenactors stroll among 26 historic buildings depicting life in the 1870s. The Diamond W Chuckwagon Supper offers family dining and entertainment.

Air Capital of the World - Approximately 47 percent of the world's general aviation aircraft are produced in Wichita. The Kansas Aviation Museum displays Wichita's aviation history including a B-47 and a B-52 jet bombers. The annual Wichita Flight Festival celebrates the city's aviation heritage.

World-class Zoo - The Sedgwick County Zoo is one of Kansas' largest attractions, and the 7th largest zoo in the United States. The new Slawson Family Tiger Trek opened in May 2009.

Keeper of the Plains - The "Keeper of the Plains" Plaza is the centerpiece of a $20.6 million project to beautify the Arkansas River. It anchors the Museums on the River District and is the region's fastest growing attraction.

Recent Developments

INTRUST Bank Arena - The 15,000-seat sports and events center opened in January 2010 and is home to the Wichita Thunder hockey team. It's located next to Wichita's Old Town red-brick warehouse entertainment district.

Hartman Arena - This 5,000-seat facility is home to the Wichita Wild indoor football team along with concerts and other events. Opened in May 2009.

WaterWalk - A mixed-use office, retail, residential district under development on the banks of the Arkansas River in downtown Wichita.
