Wichita is Kansas' largest city with a metro population of 612,683 and is filled with significant aviation and western heritage, arts and culture, entrepreneurs, festivals, and places to dine, shop, and play. Wichita, located in the heartland, is also noted for its breathtaking sunsets, beautiful weather, friendly residents, remarkable affordability, and ease of getting around.

Downtown Wichita offers meeting planners an array of hotels, meeting spaces, and entertainment. Century II Performing Arts & Convention Center boasts more than 200,000 square foot of exhibition and meeting space. Century II also connects to the Hyatt Regency Wichita, and combined they have 28 meeting and ballrooms. In addition, there are 14 other area hotels with meeting spaces for every occasion and more than 8,000 hotel room within the city.

Wichita also has an eclectic mix of unique meeting spaces. Meeting planners can host an event among wild animals at the Sedgwick County Zoo's state-of-the-art learning center, which has 15,000 square feet with classrooms, auditorium, and gathering places; in a western setting at Old Cowtown Museum's Visitor Center which features a large Great Room with a magnificent fireplace, outdoor patio and amphitheatre; or at a newly renovated cathedral church, The Grand Chapel. 

Even more is on the horizon for downtown Wichita. The 15,000-seat INTRUST Bank Arena opened in January 2010. The City of Wichita is developing a Downtown Master Plan to enable people to live, work, shop, play and learn - all within a short walk of each other. The final plan will link the Old Town district on the east through the Core around Century II to the WaterWalk and Delano districts on the west.
