Calendar of Events

In this must see exhibition, renowned painter and photographer Chuck Close features fifteen of his delicate daguerreotypes alongside enlargements of 20 leading contemporary artists. The entire exhibition is paired with poems by humorist Bob Holman. Close also crosses artistic boundaries by taking works from daguerreotypes and presenting them in a variety of media including tapestries and photogravures.

Following up on a successful set of sold-out shows in 2011, Dr. Dillinger's Freaks and Floozies performance troupe is bringing "An Evening of Burlesque" back with all new acts to Old Cowtown Museum.

Our visitors will get to use the Observatory's big telescopes to take a visual journey to the stars. It all starts with observations of the craters and smooth plains of our nearest neighbor, the Moon. The next stop will be the planet Venus (in February) and then out to Jupiter, the biggest planet in our solar system. The journey will end with a view of a distant supergiant star.
