For families with children aged 6-12 years of age or supervised groups, these fun workshops are a combination of self-directed gallery activities and an art-making activity in the art studio. Kanakuk Kamp’s KampOut will be at Metro East Baptist in Wichita on June 17-21. KampOut offers Kampers the Kanakuk summer camp experience in a day camp setting within their hometown. This exhibition gives tribute to Wichita artist C.A. Seward (1884-1939). Seward helped establish Wichita as an important national center for print making in the 1920s through 1940s. The exhibition is guest curated by Barbara Thompson, granddaughter of C.A. Seward.

NEW EXHIBIT: Visual Arts Art – “C. A. Seward & Western Lithograph’s Art Press” featured in the Lois Kay Walls Gallery at the Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum. This exhibit examines one of America’s earliest fine arts presses opened in 1923, producing approximately 7,000 lithographic prints for prominent artists of the 20th century.

Windows on Collection: New Special Temporary Exhibit Now on exhibit at the Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum in the recent acquisitions case, several of the Museum’s objects are on display. New acquisitions include a 1970s Mead Junior High letter jacket and a photograph of a 1920s style show in the Geo. Innes Department Store. Come in to see our new display on the first floor.
