NEW EXHIBIT – “Alert Today – Alive Tomorrow: Living with the Atomic Bomb 1945-1965.” This traveling exhibit looks at life in the cold war era, especially to Wichitan’s as Wichita ranked high on the Cold War Soviet “strike list”.

For families with children aged 6-12 years of age or supervised groups, these fun workshops are a combination of self-directed gallery activities and an art-making activity in the art studio. The themes and projects of Hot Art for Cool Kids change every two weeks, so you can come twice a month for twice the fun. Gallery activities begin at 2pm and the session lasts about 2 hours. Kanakuk Kamp’s KampOut will be at Metro East Baptist in Wichita on June 17-21. KampOut offers Kampers the Kanakuk summer camp experience in a day camp setting within their hometown. For five days, from 9am until 4pm, KampOut gives kindergarten through fifth graders an experience filled with guided sports and activities, Bible study, worship, and small-group time led by professional Kanakuk Kamps staff. LITE 180 is offering a sports camp for Boys and Girls ages 5-18. If your child is looking into sports, fitness and some recreational fun then this camp is for you! LITE 180 will offer: Fundamentals Speed Strength Agility friendly competition For the girls we will offer all the above with some cheer and dance classes and clinics. This will be fun for all ages....come on and join the fun and fitness team. Each participant can choose from two locations.

Botanica is excited to announce it's first exhibit ever! Once Upon a Time is an interactive exhibit where fairy tales come to life through interactive stage sets, kiosks with fun graphics and buttons that educate and enhance the spoken narrative. Kick-Off Celebration:  May 9, 7:30 p.m.

This exhibition gives tribute to Wichita artist C.A. Seward (1884-1939). Seward helped establish Wichita as an important national center for print making in the 1920s through 1940s. The exhibition is guest curated by Barbara Thompson, granddaughter of C.A. Seward.

Watermark Books & Cafe is pleased to welcome Scott Phillips for a reading and signing for "Rake" at 7 p.m. on June 19. The author of "The Adjustment", a 2011 New York Times Notable Crime Novel, returns with another noir classic. Special Exhibit – Riverfest Artifacts in Temporary Exhibit. A complete set of Wichita River Festival Buttons, beginning with the “Wichitennial River Festial and Traders Day” button from 1972, exhibited on the first floor of the Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum June 1st through June 30th, 2013. Adventure Camps are fun, four-day educational camps that take place in June and July. Each camp will have a morning session (9am - noon) and an afternoon session (1 - 4pm). In June kids study Paleontology, in July, Ancient Civilizations, and for one week campers can curate their own exhibit and put it on display in the Museum! NEW EXHIBIT: Visual Arts Art – “C. A. Seward & Western Lithograph’s Art Press” featured in the Lois Kay Walls Gallery at the Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum. This exhibit examines one of America’s earliest fine arts presses opened in 1923, producing approximately 7,000 lithographic prints for prominent artists of the 20th century.

Windows on Collection: New Special Temporary Exhibit Now on exhibit at the Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum in the recent acquisitions case, several of the Museum’s objects are on display. New acquisitions include a 1970s Mead Junior High letter jacket and a photograph of a 1920s style show in the Geo. Innes Department Store. Come in to see our new display on the first floor. First floor exhibits are free to public, along with the museum shop.

The Ulrich Museum of Art presents the Wichita State University School of Art and Design 19th Faculty Biennial. The university teachers are simultaneously exceptional artists, art historians and graphic designers. The school provides instruction in art education, art history, ceramics, drawing, graphic design, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture.
