Kansas 150th Anniversary

Wichita is joining the Kansas Sesquicentennial celebration with a year-long calendar of special events. Kansas entered the Union as the 34th state on Jan. 29, 1861. Throughout 2011, communities across Kansas will host events celebrating the state's 150th anniversary. Wichita will commemorate the anniversary with powwows, an Old West-style 4th of July celebration, lectures and special museum exhibits. For a listing of all Kansas events, click the links below.
