Family-friendly adventures start at "The Keeper of the Plains." The 44-foot statue pays tribute to the region's Native American heritage. The Wichita River Festival packs 70 fun-filled events into nine days during early May. The festival includes a parade, concerts, and a massive fireworks display. Chill out with penguins or count whiskers on tigers at the Sedgwick County Zoo - one of the best zoos in the country. Land at the Kansas Aviation Museum and learn how Wichita became the "Air Capital of the World." Need something more 21st century? Explore the future at Exploration Place - Wichita's interactive science and discovery center.

Kansas' largest city knows how to celebrate its history and cultural arts. The Wichita Flight Festival honors the city's aviation heritage. The Asian Festival, Black Arts Festival and Cinco de Mayo Celebration recognize the city's cultural diversity. The Tallgrass Film Festival brings independent filmmakers to Wichita each October.
